How Certifier integrates with Shopify
Certifier integrates with Shopify through Zapier, a no-code app connector. When Shopify records a new order, Zapier sends the relevant customer or purchase details to Certifier. Next, Certifier uses this information to issue a personalized certificate, badge, or credential and sends it directly to the customer’s inbox.
During setup, you can create separate designs for different events, such as a thank-you badge after payment, a warranty certificate, or a welcome badge for a new customer. The same Credential Template can then be reused for future recipients, helping automate part of the customer experience.

Setup steps

Open Zapier and go to Apps; click “Add connection,” select Shopify, and authenticate your account to grant permissions.

Create a Zap and choose Shopify as the trigger app.

Select a trigger event to kickstart certificate issuance, such as New Paid Order or New Customer. Then, connect your Shopify account.

Add Certifier as the action app, select “Issue Credential,” and connect your Certifier account.

Choose your Credential Template and map the recipient name, email, and relevant purchase fields.

Yes, Certifier’s Starter plan lets you add up to two designs to one credential template, while Professional and Advanced support up to 10.
You could pair a certification with a matching digital badge, create versions in different languages, or prepare separate designs for different product lines or types of warranty certificates. Each recipient receives every design attached to a template.
Yes. If a customer’s warranty period changes, open their issued credential in Certifier, edit the certification’s expiration date, and save the update.
Certifier applies the new date to the live credential automatically, so the recipient sees the revised validity period without needing a replacement certificate.
Shopify can flag the refund through Zapier. However, Certifier doesn’t currently have an automatic revoke or delete action, so a refund won’t remove the customer’s credential automatically.
If the purchase should no longer qualify, open the customer’s credential in Certifier and delete it manually.
Shopify is a premium Zapier app, so you’ll need a paid Zapier plan to connect. The lowest tier is Professional, with 750 workflow tasks per month. Each completed Zap action uses a task.
Certifier works on any plan — including the free Starter one — and supports hundreds of Zapier integrations. Starter includes up to 250 credentials per year.
